The King's England comprised a series of books about the towns and villages of England. Each county was presented as a complete volume in the series, and all were edited by Arthur Mee.
Every place was visited and the compilers travelled over 500,000 miles. The books provided a unique picture of the English countryside and this CD version adds to the usefulness of the original work.
Each book is being fully digitised on a page-for-page basis and they will be fully bookmarked and searchable, as well as printable.
The Lake Counties was originally published in 1937.
