Clwb Rygbi Nantgaredig has been the home to rugby in the Towy Valley for over 40 years. The club is at the heart of the community and has a proud record of achievement.

The club was formed in 1966 by interested young farmers who played the occasional game.

Records show that during the 1882-1983 season Llanelli RFC played three games at Nantgaredig against a side which consisted of a combined Carmarthen and Llandeilo team, but the exact venue remains unknown.

The Club’s first league match was an away game against Amman Quins.

Over the following years, and after many fundraising events, the field was purchased in 1973, followed in 1976 with the purchase and erection of changing rooms. An project to provide new improved changing facilities was started 1997 and floodlights have also been installed.

The Club’s 40th anniversary, celebrated in 2005-2006, was their most season - they won Section A of the Llanelli and District League.

In 2007-2008 the club entered the newly formed WRU Division 6 West.
