Pembrey Country Park

Remains of old wreck on Pembrey's Cefn Sidan sands

Pembrey Country Park is situated approximately 3 miles from Kidwelly. It was formerly an area where ammunitions were stored and made and when the site was no longer needed by the military it was transformed into what must one of Carmarthenshire's premier attractions.

There’s the seven miles of Cefn Sidan beach which offers safe bathing and woodland walks and picnic areas. The beach has won many awards and has lifeguards on duty throughout the summer months.

Other attractions include a dry-ski slope, horse riding, land yachting, orienteering, parascending, mini-railway and putting green.

A visitors centre, shop and restaurant plus unlimited car parking ensure a great day out for all the family.

You can look out over the sandbanks and tidal waters to the Gower Peninsula.

The Welsh Motor Sports Centre for Formula 3, autocross, go-carting and other motor sports lies on an adjacent site approximately a mile north of the Country Park.
