Manorbier Castle
Pembrokeshire

This Castle dates from the middle of the 12th century and is in private ownership.
It is the birthplace of Geraldus Cambrensis (Gerald of Wales), a great 12th century scholar, who described the castle as 'the pleasantest spot in Wales'.
The Great Hall, Turrets and Chapel are dotted with life-size figures and prisoners can be seen in the dungeon.
There are later additions and repairs, but the mediaeval atmosphere remains.
A souvenir shop, gardens and unspoilt beach close by ensure a great day out for all the family.
Location: On the A4139 coast road between Tenby and Pembroke
