Site of Garage, Nantgaredig, June 2002

There were several garages in Llanegwad in the golden years of the motor car, and this was one of them. The pumps once stood on the roadside. The building in recent years was used as "Dip Strip", where furniture could be stripped of its paint and varnish. The first car in Nantgaredig is believed to have been photographed in this building.
The building now lies derelict. An old postcard shows the garage when it was open.
The stone building on the far left was the village Post Office in earlier days.

Mrs Daniel " Vi", (right) pictured outside the garage which was adjacent to the Post Office at Nantgaredig crossroads. This was also owned by the Daniel family. Part of their name is visible on the garage door
