Abergwili - Early 20th Century, Looking East
Date unknown. Views looking east. These early photographs show the main Carmarthen - Llandeilo road before the onset of the era of the motor car. The village once again enjoys a fairly peaceful life with the opening of a new by-pass.
The photograph below appears to be earlier than the one above and is taken from a similar vantage point, but on the other side of the road.
In the far distance there is now a roundabout, part of a late 20th century road improvement scheme. Bishop Rudd's Palace, now Carmarthen's Museum is just off the roundabout .
