All Walks begin close to Dolau at Felingwm Isaf
Nantsaer Distance 2.75 miles Moderate
Proceed from Dolau up hill past Sitim Chapel. Trinity Church is approximately 1 mile and is situated alongside the River Cothi. Carry on to next road junction, turn right. Join the B4310 at the top of the hill and turn right back to Dolau.
Penlan Distance 2.75 miles Moderate
Proceed from Dolau straight up hill for approx. 0.75 miles. Take first right at top of hill, go through farm yard (if gate is open please close it behind you). Continue downhill (excellent views). At the junction near Trinity Church turn right back to Dolau approx. 0.75 miles.
Plas Alltyferin Distance 3.25 miles Moderate
Proceed up hill for approximately 1 mile past farm. Turn right at bungalow, then take next right. Continue past Waun-y-Ewig and on to Plas Alltyferin. Gentle gradient down to road junction. At Y Graig Farm turn left and go on to next junction near Trinity Church. Turn right 0.75 miles back to Dolau.
The Ridgeway Distance 4.5 miles Very Steep
Proceed from Dolau towards the B4310, turn right to Felingwrn Uchaf. At Tractor Garage turn left past houses and continue up steep hill for approximately 1.5 miles. Bear left at top of hill for a fairly flat 1.5 miles. Very steep decent (panoramic views of Tywi Valley). Back to B4310, left at junction, 1 mile to Dolau.
The Steps Distance 6.5 miles Very Steep
Proceed from Dolau to B4310, turn right to Felingwrn Uchaf. Past the Public House in the village. Up hill take first right. Follow zig-zag road (Steps) for 1 mile. Turn right and go past the farm, then turn right again. Gentle decent for 1.5 miles to Pontynyswen passing chapel on right. Then fork right at River Cothi (do not cross Iron River Bridge). Then for 1.5 miles ascend the steep hill. At bungalow turn left and follow road down hill to Dolau.
Pontynyswen Distance 7 miles Steep
Proceed straight uphill from Dolau for 1 mile. Turn right at Bungalow down to Pontynyswen River Bridge. Turn right over Iron Bridge across River Cothi then turn right again. Follow river down valley for 3 miles turn right at A40 (be careful - busy road for 0.5 miles). At Cothi Bridge pass Public Houses and Cothi Bridge Hotel, cross River Cothi via footbridge. Turn right crossing A40 (be careful - busy road). Proceed along lane to Trinity Church, bear left after church 0.75 mile back to Dolau.
