The Llandeilo - Abergwili Junction Branch Line - 3
Branch Line Overview Abergwili Junction & Dryslwyn Nantgaredig Station
Golden Grove

Golden Grove Station
The station house was converted some time ago but the line of the track is easily seen both to east and west for a considerable distance. The platforms survive as can be seen in this photograph (above) taken in August 2002. There are no signs to identify the house but a signal post remains in the garden. The station lies a short distance from Aberglasney and the Golden Grove Mansion, home of the Vaughan family in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
Below: Another view of the Station building with the remains of the signal clearly seen on the extreme left. The exterior shows little sign of the building's former use.

The 1901 Census for Golden Grove Station House, Llangathan shows that John Davies, age 33, was head of family. His wife was Ellen Davies, aged 23. They both could speak Welsh & English. Their two older children are shown as speaking Welsh only and were Thomas Davies, aged 8, Mary R. Davies, aged 5 and David G. Davies, aged 3
