In 2006/7 a major programme of restoration was undertaken involving all the murals and painted areas which had become grubby over the years, largely due to the original coal-fired central heating. Laborious hand cleaning using mainly conservation sponges and elbow grease has transformed its appearance to the sparkling effect that you see today. The work was carried out under the supervision of Cath Haslam of Brecon and her team of three helpers. A substantial proportion of the funding came from generous grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund (£50,000) and CADW (£23,000) topped up by the congregational resources of Holy Trinity.
